League of Legends’ newest trailer has given us a sneak peek at their upcoming spooky support champion, Pyke, the Bloodharbor Ripper.
Pyke, who seems to have been betrayed by the members of his own crew ship, can be seen sinking to the bottom depths of the sea and into the mouth of an unknown sea creature. Making a return from his watery grave, Pyke walks along the streets of Bilgewater seeking revenge on the souls of those who deemed him wrong.
The teaser doesn’t show much of Pyke’s actual abilities though. Sources close to development are stating that he’ll be an aggressive playmaking champion, similar to Nautilus or Leona.
Those rumors have been unofficially confirmed by R3AVE, lead producer of champions at Riot Games, which had this to say about their upcoming champion:
“we wanted to create an aggressive playmaker, someone who doesn’t just save a drowning ally, but who forces their enemies to drown themselves… by their own hands.”
Riot hasn’t announced an official release date for Pyke, but players should expect to see the Bloodharbor Ripper in action when the PBE update goes live on Tuesday. Will Pyke actually be the playmaker Riot is making him out to be? I hope they stick to their word, I’m tired of playing protect the ADC when I support!
